Trinity Parks new Unimproved Sidewalk!

These new fences are total crap...whoever designed them didn't intend for people to bring a bike through them... ARRGH!

  2. perhaps they intend for you to stand the bike up on end and walk it through! that would be a toughy with the ute!

  3. It looks to me as if the intent was to seriously discourage people riding through the location.

  4. True about bringing bikes through, but I think the larger concern was people wandering out into the path without looking especially because the sight lines are so bad (which was my concern when they put this feature in). The fencing makes people actively navigate their entrance to the trail so hopefully by the time they step out they're looking for cross traffic. Not ideal for bikes, but I'd rather have that, than have people darting out into the trail out of a blind spot suddenly.

  5. I don't mind the fact that they are there just the fact that they are so close together my bike will not even make the turn nor could any body on a racing wheelchair the facility could use a little tweaking to be really functional.

  6. These gates were a "patch"... the real problem is that whomever designed the new trail underpass did a terrible job, leaving a blind turn. The gates were added after the trail was open for a week or two, and there were lots of complaints about the blind turn and some near collisions.

There was nothing wrong with the original underpass design... not sure why they didn't just resurface that.

Now Longtail Cargo Bikes, Tandems, Child Trailers, some recumbents, adult trikes, many special needs-cycles, etc. will all be unable to access the trail at this point.

    Definitely a dumb situation.
